There has been a series of programmes on UK TV about The Monarchy, as part of the celebration of HM Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday. Each episode of the series has been advertised by an excerpt in which a man is stating that Diana did a lot of damage to The Royal Family.
How does this statement ‘celebrate’ the Queen’s 90th birthday? Maybe Princess Diana would ask the same question, were she still alive, of course. Which she isn’t and thus has no voice with which to ask this question.
Great advertising! I haven’t watched a single episode of this series.
I agree with you. Diana is dead and cannot respond. Leave her out of it. But Happy Birthday tot he Queen!

How dare she! That BLOODY queen makes me very cross! How are the two sons supposed to feel about this?

I have no idea if the Queen knows about this. I would have thought someone in her household certainly would. And yes, where does that leave Diana’s two boys? To say that Diana did ‘damage’ is such a shallow statement. And in fact, Diana created a major shake up of the royal system that did nothing but good. That’s my opinion. It’s also my opinion that it’s cowardly to make derogatory statements about someone who, by virtue of being dead, cannot respond. Nice to hear from you. Sorry I made you froth at the mouth! 🙂

Being a South African, the QoE doesn’t mean that much to me, but ever since Diana I’ve turned positively adverse to anything to do with the Royal family. They’re obviously world news so one can’t help but know about their soap opera. Charles didn’t want to marry Diana, was in love with Camilla, but was forced into it by his mommy. That a prince can’t say no to his mommy is the saddest thing in the world. They used her for their image making, their PR work and when she proved an independent thinker she was thrown to the scavengers. I read a sane article about the car crash she perished in and no longer have the view that she was, in fact, … can’t say the word …This whole royal system isn’t very healthy in my view.

The deepest of soundings will never fathom the ‘truth’. I was just incensed at the poor taste of the excerpts from the TV programmes, given that Diana cannot defend herself. That Diana ‘did a lot of damage to the royals’ is EVIDENTLY not true.

Evidently!! I see in our local newspaper an article re QoE. Just ignored it, as I always do, and particularly now. 🙂

and don’t they control all press statements that go out about them?

They pay people a lot of money to do it for them, that’s for certain.
