The Earth is Singing.
I am a hare (Chinese Astrology) and despite that I don’t really believe in astrology, like hares, I am drawn to the moon.
There’ll be a total lunar eclipse this weekend. There’s to be a supermoon, a blood (red) moon 10 o’clock (ET) and 1.10 am (BST) this Sunday. In the UK, providing the sky will be clear, the best time to see this blood moon will be about three in the morning (Monday).
A supermoon is a moon at its perigee, meaning, closest to the earth. This Sunday, the moon is going to be very big, very round and very red – a super blood moon.
The last time this happened was 30 years ago. The next time it’s going to happen will be in 2033.

Poetic Mapping: Walking Into Art 
Hi Ann. I forgot to take my camera out with me and didn’t want to wake up my husband again as he was getting up to go to work two hours later. However I’ve witnessed comets, meteor showers and the Northern lights without a camera and loved every minute. I’m sure there are many fantastic shots out there. 🙂

Some shots arrived in my email box today, from New York State. Unbelievable. They had a much better view of the eclipse over there. I remember Comet Hale-Bopp, with its tail. It was in the sky for a while when we lived on Grand Cayman. (We also sat behind storm shutters for a week while Hurricane Mitch headed direct for the island. It veered off at the last minute.) And we (hubbie and I) lay on the lawn watching the Perseids shooting about, that was in rural France. I’ve not seen the Northern Lights. Would like to. Not seen an alien space ship. Would … maybe … like to! It’s nice to know that you were watching the blood moon in Bedfordshire while I was doing the same in Kent. I’m not quite sure why. :):)

Hi Ann. I watched the Supermoon eclipse just after 3.00am gmt. It was spectacular and looked a russet red colour. Great poem and Karen’s painting fits your poem so well. 🙂

I started watching (on and off) just before 1. If you took any photos I hope you’ll post them. The view through binoculars was interested. The moon here wasn’t big. Just normal, but when the eclipse became total, it was so strange. The poem is not mine. Maybe Karen’s. It just turned up at an apt time. 🙂
